RECOM 2 RT EC is a reliable ceiling-mounted ventilation unit, ideal for installation above suspended ceilings. This guide will help you understand the main installation requirements. The full manufacturer's manual can be found in the specifications tab.
What is in the box
The standard manufacturer package includes:
- Fully assembled air handling unit with 40 mm insulation, integrated automation, and a Wi-Fi module.
- Filters: G4 class extract air and F7 class outdoor air filters.
What you will need additionally
For successful ventilation system installation, you will need to purchase additionally:
- Mounting hardware (threaded rods and nuts).
- Vibration isolation pads for noise reduction.
- Power cable and an appropriate circuit breaker.
- Ductwork system components, flexible connectors, and diffusers.
- External sensors (e.g., CO₂ or humidity), if you plan to use them.
Dimensions and location selection
The external dimensions of the unit are 1003 mm length, 688 mm width, and 345 mm height. When mounting above the ceiling, it is necessary to leave technical access from the bottom panel for filter maintenance. This unit handles air temperatures from -25 to +40 °C. Mounted under the ceiling, it will be both effective and visually unseen.
Duct connection
Main 160 mm and 125 mm diameter ducts connect to this unit. To reduce vibration transmission to the duct system and maintain quiet operation, flexible connectors are recommended. Ducts located in unheated spaces or supplying outdoor air must be properly insulated.
Condensate drainage
Unlike plate heat exchangers, this model uses a rotary heat exchanger, so a condensate drainage system is usually not required as condensation does not form inside the unit. This makes installation significantly easier and faster.
Electrical connection
Electrical work must only be performed by a qualified electrician. The unit is designed for a single-phase network and powered by 220-240 V, 50 Hz. The maximum current with the electric heater operating reaches 4.1 A. Proper grounding and appropriately rated circuit breakers must be ensured.
Control systems
The unit is most conveniently controlled directly via Wi-Fi using the manufacturer's "RECOM AHU" mobile app on your smartphone. The system also allows connecting a wired or wireless control panel, as well as adding CO₂ or humidity sensors for smart operation.
First start
Before leaving the system for continuous operation, check:
- Whether the G4 and F7 class filters are installed correctly and undamaged.
- Whether all duct connections are sealed and complete.
- Power on the unit via the "RECOM AHU" mobile app and perform test airflow balancing.
Maintenance and filters
The guarantee of a clean ventilation system is regular filter replacement. The unit is equipped with G4 class extract air and F7 class outdoor air filters. Replacement intervals are dictated by pollution, but for convenience, the unit's engine hour meter will notify you of upcoming filter changes.
