Rotary vs Sorption heat exchanger: Which to choose?
Both models require no condensate drainage pipes. The standard rotary (SR) heat exchanger handles normal moisture conditions perfectly and reaches up to 85% recovery efficiency. Meanwhile, if you live in a wooden house or notice that the rooms get very dry in winter, the sorption (SRS) model with a special moisture-absorbing coating will effectively return the exhaust air moisture back to your living space.

What you will need additionally
To facilitate the installation process, prepare:
- Wall mounting hardware (considering the 82 kg weight)
- Vibration isolation materials
- Control panel (e.g., FPD screen or FP Wi-Fi module)
- 160 mm diameter ducts and fittings
Dimensions and location selection
Choose a sufficiently strong wall for hanging the unit. Note that the front and rear doors can be swapped—this allows you to adjust the service side (right or left) even after the unit has arrived. It is necessary to leave at least 60 cm of free space for opening the doors.
Duct connection
The system provides four main 160 mm diameter spigots. If you wish to integrate a kitchen hood, a fifth spigot is available for this purpose—extracted air is routed bypassing the heat exchanger (to protect it from grease) while maintaining a common exhaust system.
Condensate drainage
Rotary units are frost-resistant and recover moisture, so there is no need to connect water drainage pipes.
Electrical connection
The unit has an integrated 1.4 kW electric heater, so the total maximum electrical current demand is about 7.5 A. Connection work and automation wiring must be performed by a professional electrician.
First start
After turning on the unit via the control panel, system calibration is required—balancing airflows according to design values and setting desired ventilation schedules.
Maintenance and filters
The front doors provide easy access to the filters, which should be changed 2-3 times a year. It is also recommended to periodically inspect and, if necessary, clean the rotor itself with a vacuum cleaner.
