Enjoy silence and fresh air in your home without any worries. The RECOM 1 S/SE EPP EC ensures efficient ventilation with ultra-quiet operation (from just 16 dB(A)) and an extremely lightweight, heat-insulating EPP casing, perfectly suited for apartments and smaller spaces.
Complete silence — from 16 dB(A)
Operates quieter than a whisper, making it perfect for installation near bedroom areas.
Ultra-lightweight — only 8 kg
The expanded polypropylene (EPP) casing simplifies installation and avoids straining structures.
Compact — 247 mm height
The slim design allows the unit to be easily hidden above suspended ceilings.
Why choose RECOM 1 S/SE EPP EC?
Wake up in fresh air without any annoying noise. The RECOM 1 S/SE EPP EC air handling unit operates extremely quietly – from just 16 dB(A), so you can safely install it near relaxation areas. The lightweight EPP (polypropylene) casing weighs only 8 kg, provides excellent sound and heat insulation, and its 247 mm height makes it easy to hide above suspended ceilings.
Compactness doesn't mean compromises. The unit reaches an airflow of up to 136 m³/h, which is fully sufficient for an average-sized apartment, ensuring high indoor air quality with minimal energy consumption thanks to efficient EC motors.
One housing — two efficiency standards
Choose the heat exchanger that best suits your home's needs, while maintaining the same lightweight and quiet chassis.
Enthalpy (SE) — comfort with moisture balance
This variant not only recovers up to 88% of heat but also returns moisture to the rooms. You will avoid dry air problems in winter, eliminating the need for additional humidifiers. It is the perfect solution for apartments where dry air causes discomfort during the heating season.
Condensing (S) — maximum thermal efficiency
Achieves up to 94% heat recovery and belongs to the A+ energy class. This allows you to minimize heating costs. This model requires a continuous condensate drain, as the extracted moisture condenses inside the unit.
Complete ventilation system with REC BalticVent
The right air handling unit is just the start of a quality system. For your home to be truly quiet and fresh, you'll need sealed ducts, effective silencers, and aesthetic diffusers. ORO Haus specialists will help you configure and complete the entire ventilation system perfectly tailored to this model.

The exceptionally slim (only 247 mm height) and lightweight (8 kg) air handling unit is designed for mounting to suspended ceilings. This guide covers basic requirements for unit fixing and duct connection. You can find the full manufacturer's manual in the specifications tab.
What is in the box
The package comes ready for a quick start:
- Fully assembled air handling unit in an insulated EPP casing
- Filters (G4 for extract, G4 or optional F7 for supply)
- Wired control panel (FP) and control board
- User and installation manual
What you will need additionally
Additional parts needed for smooth installation:
- 4 pcs. of threaded rods and nuts for ceiling mounting
- Flexible duct connectors and clamps for anti-vibration joints
- Power supply cable (installed by electrician)
- Siphon and drain pipe for condensate (especially for S model)
Dimensions and location selection
The unit is fixed at 4 points to the ceiling using threaded rods (must ensure surface load capacity). The casing dimensions are 596 x 560 x 247 mm (without spigots). Sufficient free space must be left underneath – the unit must be easily accessible to open the bottom cover for filter replacement and service. Mounted above the ceiling — you won't see or hear it.
Duct connection
The unit features spigots for circular ducts. Dual connection standard: 100 mm ducts fit inside the spigot, while 125 mm ducts slide over the outside. To minimize noise, it is always recommended to use straight sections before the unit (1 duct diameter before extract, at least 3 after supply) and connect them using flexible vibration-isolating sleeves.
Condensate drainage
For the condensing (S) model, a condensate drain is mandatory. A U-trap siphon must be connected to the drain pipe and routed to the sewage system (minimum slope of 3 mm). The enthalpy (SE) model recovers moisture, so less condensate forms, but installing a drainage system is still recommended to protect under extreme conditions.
Electrical connection
Electrical work must be performed by a qualified electrician. The unit requires a single-phase 230V / 50 Hz power supply. The terminal block (X1) provides specific contacts for fire alarms, external CO₂ or humidity sensors, and the wired control panel. The system is protected by an integrated 2.5A 5x20 slow-blow fuse.
Control systems
The included wired FP control panel connects via a 4-core (4x0.25 mm²) cable. The panel features LED indicators for fan speeds, a filter replacement timer, and alarm signals. Smart phone control or Wi-Fi functions are not available on this specific model.
First start
Before turning the system on for the first time, check the following:
- Check that G4 / F7 filters are in place and covers are sealed
- Ensure ducts are tightly connected without air leaks
- Ensure the U-trap siphon is filled with water (to block sewer gases)
- Upon powering on, balance the airflows across the diffusers
Maintenance and filters
Filter replacement is recommended 3–4 times a year, either by vacuuming or inserting new ones. G4 or F7 class filters can be used for supply, and G4 for extract. The heat exchanger must be removed once a year and carefully cleaned with compressed air or a vacuum cleaner to maintain high heat recovery efficiency.
[PRODUCT-SPECIFIC] Universal modification (Side swapping)
The unit is designed so that its left and right configurations (spigot sides) can be modified on-site. This requires physically relocating the temperature and humidity sensors from one side to the other (through the internal EPP walls) and swapping the fan connection cables on the control board. The condensate drain plug may also need to be relocated.
