When do you need a connection box extension?

In ventilation system installation, it is common for diffuser connection boxes to be mounted directly against the concrete ceiling slab, while the finished ceiling (plasterboard or stretch ceiling) is lowered significantly below. In such cases, the standard box spigot is not long enough to reach the ceiling plane. This extension solves this problem, allowing a safe and airtight connection between the box and the room diffuser.

Easy adaptation and installation

The extension is specially designed for the standard Ø125 mm diameter, perfectly matching the box spigot and the diffuser dimensions. The part can be easily shortened by cutting off the unnecessary length, making it easy to adapt exactly to your specific ceiling height.

Compatibility and airtightness

The part is fully compatible with all plastic connection boxes featuring a Ø125 mm spigot. To ensure maximum airtightness of the entire system, it is recommended to additionally seal the connection points with special adhesive sealing tapes. The installation of the extension is carried out before the finished ceilings are finally closed or right after the ceiling openings are prepared.

Length adjustment

Measure the exact distance from the existing box spigot to the desired ceiling level. If the extension is too long, it can be cut using a plastic saw or a special cutter.

Connection to the box

Place the extension over the connection box spigot. To ensure the highest airtightness class and prevent pressure loss, firmly wrap the joint with aluminum or PVC sealing tape.

Diffuser attachment

Once the finished ceiling is installed, the diffuser or anemostat is inserted directly into the installed and secured extension. Before insertion, check for any internal sharp edges that could damage the diffuser's sealing rubber.
